FOR ONE NIGHT each year, more than two dozen lawyers take the stage to put on a show—and prove their acting and singing chops are just as strong as their courtroom skills.
It’s a fundraising tradition that won’t let pandemic shutdowns stand in its way: the show must go on virtually in this pandemic year.
The 2021 Lawyer Show Online: Cabaret-A-Ganza streams direct to your living room in support of Carousel Theatre for Young People and Touchstone Theatre.
Normally, the multitalented legal eagles put together a single show, such as The Drowsy Chaperone or Urinetown. But this year, the crew brings a variety of musical-theatre songs to life in solos and virtual group numbers.
Names include Jennifer Brun, Rob Burns, Alison Colpis, Shannon Currie, Navi Gill, Johanna Goosen, Tevia Jeffries, Liam Kearns, Danielle Lemon, Mandana Namazi, Kiera Neufeld, Stephen Robertson, Linda Sum, Sarah Tradewell, Vista Trethewey, Sean Vanderfluit, Roger Was, and Mark Wolf. Michael Bain, Daniel Burne, Cappone D'Angelo, Lindsay Goldberg, and Mark Slay play in the band.
Funds raised by The Lawyer Show support CTYP’s mentorship of emerging artists and accessibility initiatives and Touchstone Theatre’s new play development.
