Alain Grégoire steps in as interim artistic and managing director at Théâtre la Seizième
He spent 16 years at the youth-focused Maison Théâtre in Montreal
LOCAL FRANCOPHONE STAGE COMPANY Théâtre la Seizième has announced the appointment of Alain Grégoire as its new interim artistic and general manager. He steps in to cover for Esther Duquette, who is going on maternity leave, on January 11.
Gregoire is a theatre professional with more than 40 years of experience. Trained as a performer, he’s directed of dozens of productions and taught in professional theatre schools. He’s also worked as an expert in theatre policy for both public authorities and the community. As a producer, Gregoire has held management positions at facilities including the National Arts Centre, the Théâtre du Trident, the Théâtre de la Ville, and at the Maison Théâtre in Montreal, where he served 16 years as general manager for the company that specializes in children’s and youth theatre.
Grégoire is slated to work to February 2022, before Duquette, who’s run the company since 2016, returns.
