Arts Umbrella Spring Break Dance Intensives explore a range of styles and inspiration

Guest artists are also on hand, in a program divided into two age groups

Arts Umbrella is inviting young dancers ages 8 to 18 to attend a fun March Break week of ballet technique classes, contemporary, jazz, improv, and hip-hop workshops, and choreographic explorations with exciting guest artists. ⁠

Its Spring Break Dance Intensives are open to both currently enrolled and non-Arts Umbrella students. Dancers should have at least one to two years of ballet experience to participate.

There are two intensives for different age groups.

The Teen Spring Break Dance Intensive is aimed at students in Grade 8 and over, running from March 14 to 18, 8:45 am-4 pm.⁠

The Junior Spring Break Dance Intensive welcomes students in Grades 3 to 7, running from March 21 to 25, 9:30 am to 3:45 pm.⁠

Intensives will take place in-person at Arts Umbrella’s newly renovated, state-of-the-art Arts Umbrella Granville Island facility (1400 Johnston Street), with a cost of $650 per week. COVID safety measures will be in place, including rigorous cleaning measures, physical distance guidelines, mandatory masks for those aged 5+, and strict health declarations.
