Learn online with the BC Alliance this spring! We’re offering workshops on workplace wellness and justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
On March 29 from 11 am to 12 pm via Zoom., Shirley Ley presents How Are You REALLY Doing?: Wellness at the Workplace. Learn ways to gauge your current wellness level, understand how wellness directly impacts creative work, and discover ways to reclaim your wellness at the workplace.
Ley holds a master’s of Education degree in counselling psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto and a doctorate of clinical psychology from Adler University – Vancouver campus. Working as a principal at BIPOC Executive Search, she focuses on recruitment; organizational development; and equity, diversity, and inclusion training and audits in higher education, social services, and non-profit sectors.
Next up: Do you want to take your first steps into learning about justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI)? Are you nervous about making a mistake or feeling confused? Warren Dean Flandez tells you Everything You Wanted to Know About Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, But Were Afraid to Ask on April 7 from 10 to 11 am via Zoom.
Flandez is an educator, cultural facilitator and award-winning, JUNO-nominated musician. A graduate of Cornell University’s Diversity & Inclusion program, Warren has worked as an independent EDI Consultant and most recently has founded The Clear Umbrella, a full service agency dedicated to this work. A member of the faculty at Capilano University, Flandez is also the co-founder of non-profit organization THIS (The Harmony Initiative Society) and has worked extensively with a variety of organizations, spanning municipal governments, school districts, law enforcement agencies, and cultural groups on EDI training, policy frameworks, and community-based initiatives.
