Every summer since 2015, Belle Spirale Dance Projects directors Alexis Fletcher and Sylvain Senez have hosted the multidisciplinary outdoor-performance series The Dance Deck in the backyard of their Vancouver home, during which acclaimed performers and creators share works at a grassroots level.

This year’s series features a stacked lineup. Alba Nadal is performing the North American debut of a powerful solo by Kevin O’Day; both are internationally acclaimed German artists.

Opera Unbound mezzo-sopranos Taryn Plater and Rachael McAuley are delivering a work co-directed by pianist Perri Lo, with a choreographic accompaniment by emerging Arts Umbrella Dance Company artists.

Two more solos are premiering: one by Belle Spirale artist Brenna Metzmeier, and another from Aiden Cass and Sarah Hutton of generous mess, performed by Kira Radosevic.

The Dance Deck Onze takes place on August 17, 18, 24, and 25 from 4 pm to 6 pm, with a post-show bar and dinner by donation. Tickets are available online on a sliding scale.
