Brooklyn-based guitarist Luca Benedetti (Jim Campilongo, Ron Carter) will return to Vancouver with his supercharged rhythm section featuring bassist Tony Scherr (Bill Frisell, Norah Jones, Sex Mob) and drummer Tony Mason (John Scofield, Joan Osborne, Charlie Hunter) on June 27 at 7:30 pm.

The show at Capilano University’s BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts is part of its eight-concert North Shore Jazz series, a “festival within a festival” taking place at venues across the North Shore from June 21 to 30 in partnership with Vancouver International Jazz Festival.

Luca Benedetti Trio’s 2023 album Ride Awhile showcases the singular and stylized chemistry between the three musicians, who consistently deliver adventurous, original, instrumental music.

Benedetti is no stranger to Vancouver, where he lived from 2014 to 2016. While in B.C., he cofounded hard-hitting country jazz outfit Speeding West with local greats Scott Smith, Jeremy Holmes, and Nino DiPasquale.

Tickets are available at capilanou.ca/centre.
