The Shut-Ins are bringing their twang-tastic thrills to the BlueShore Theatre at CapU on April 23 at 8 pm, featuring songs off the group’s latest album, 3 Ring Circus.

Formed by two talented Canadian guitarists, Vancouver’s Paul Pigat and Toronto’s Kevin Breit, The Shut-Ins are an instrumental treasure that’s one part jazz, two parts rockabilly, and always hugely entertaining. They will be joined for the performance by bassist Jeremy Holmes and drummer Nino DiPasquali.

Pigat is known for his fiery roots style of guitar playing and rich baritone voice. Schooled in everything from classical to jazz, he performs regularly with his rocking Cousin Harley trio, and has worked with such talents as Neko Case.

With his wry humour and exhilarating guitar ability, Breit constantly pushes the boundaries of roots and jazz music with his project the Sisters Euclid and his diverse solo recordings, including his brazen alter ego Johnny Goldtooth.

Tickets, $30, can be found at Capilano University.
