The Langley Community Music School has just announced that its second-annual Cascade Peaks ChamberFest will take place this June, and applications are now open for the accompanying Cascade Peaks ChamberFest Academy.
The academy features instruction, mentorship, and performance opportunities through an emerging artist program from June 16 to 22; a residency program from June 17 to 22; and a community artist program from June 20 to 23.
Canada’s renowned Borealis String Quartet is the ChamberFest’s resident ensemble, and Borealis violinist Yuel Yawney serves as artistic director. At the academy, he will be joined on faculty by his fellow quartet members: violinist Patricia Shih, violist Nikita Pogrebnoy, and cellist Sungyong Lim.
Guest-artist instructors include violinist Jonathan Crow, clarinetist James Campbell, and violist Juan-Miguel Hernandez, along with the Juno Award-winning Gryphon Trio (violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon, pianist Jamie Parker, and cellist Roman Borys).
Interested artists can apply for the academy online. Deadlines vary by program.
