Chan Centre for the Performing Arts presents American pianist-composer Aaron Diehl in a Chan Shun Concert Hall show programmed by David Fung on April 19 at 8 pm.

Born in Columbus, Ohio and now based in New York City, jazz and classical musician Diehl plays with a three-dimensional sound that reflects ancestral lineages and cultural expressions. The New York Times dubbed him “a composer worth watching” upon the release of his 2020 record The Vagabond, which leans into exploration across nine original tracks and works by Philip Glass and Sergei Prokofiev.

Diehl has played everywhere from the Barbican Centre in London and the Philharmonie de Paris to Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Walt Disney Hall. He has collaborated with artists among the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Benny Golson, Jimmy Heath, Buster Williams, Branford Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon, and Philip Glass.

Tickets to see Diehl and more information can be found at the Chan Centre.
