The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC is hosting ANOHNI in concert for her long-anticipated return to Vancouver on October 5 at 8 pm.
Born in the U.K. and raised in Amsterdam and California, ANOHNI relocated to New York in her late teens, forming the Johnsons in 1998 and honing in on animist and eco-feminist themes. Her music spans electronic, experimental, avant-classical, dance, and soul sounds. She will reunite with the Johnsons for the first time since 2010 for this new tour called It’s Time To Feel What’s Really Happening.
At the Chan Shun Concert Hall, ANOHNI will be joined by nine musicians as she performs her latest studio album, 2023’s My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross. Named Album of the Year by the New Yorker and Toronto Star, the record examines societal structures, spirituality, and biosphere relationships.
Tickets are available at the Chan Centre.
