The Chan Centre for Performing Arts and Vancouver International Film Festival present Jeremy Dutcher and Alanis Obomsawin on October 4 at 8 pm at the Chan Shun Concert Hall in partnership with the Vancouver Art Gallery, as part of both the Chan EXP Series and VIFF Live program.

Award-winning Wolastoqiyik tenor-composer Jeremy Dutcher and renowned Abenaki filmmaker-musician Alanis Obomsawin—two of the most compelling voices in Indigenous artistry—meet for this intimate, unforgettable evening of intergenerational sharing.

Dutcher performs with his trio, blending songs from his Tobique First Nation community in New Brunswick with neoclassical, jazz, and pop influences. Obomsawin offers a rare live performance of her only full-length album Bush Lady, originally released in 1988, with Montreal’s Radwan Moumneh at the helm of an accompanying ensemble. This will mark only the third time Obomsawin has performed the record since its 2018 reissue.

Tickets and more details are at the Chan Centre.
