The Circle Craft Christmas Market runs at the Vancouver Convention Centre West to November 14.

FOLLOWING A PANDEMIC pause in 2020, the Circle Craft Christmas Market runs through the weekend, featuring 200 artists—more than 40 of them new to the event this year.

A tradition of almost 50 years, the event features jewellers, potters, clothing designers, wood and metal workers, glass blowers, candle and soap makers, and more to help you get an early jump on holiday shopping that supports BC and Canadian craft. Designers are bringing in handmade wares from Denman and Salt Spring islands, and as far away as Montreal and Halifax.

Highlights include Ride the Pine’s recycled-hockey-stick shadow boxes and other high-design Canadiana; eco-friendly resin and concrete jewellery by Winnipeg’s dconstruct; and bright-hued hand-thrown bowls and mugs by Revelstoke’s Monashee Pottery.

New jury-selected exhibitors include Indigenous Nouveau, with its traditional Métis beadwork; RECVRD Candle Co., with its soy candles in recycled beer bottles; and Knotty Wood Design, featuring wood furniture and art.

Demonstrations are also back, with presentations from potters Gordon Hutchens and Cathi Jefferson and throughout the artful-food-focused Gourmet Alley.

Vaccination cards and masks are a must; see here for more info.
