New Brunswick singer-songwriter David Myles is a Juno-winning artist whose career highlights include collaborating on Canada’s most successful rap single ever. The versatile, acclaimed musician performs with his trio at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts (6450 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby) on Friday, October 14 at 8 pm.
Sitting somewhere on the spectrum between James Taylor and Justin Timberlake, Myles has forged his own path by embracing modern and vintage pop, folk, and soul music. With extensive touring experience across Canada and around the globe, he has earned a reputation as a great showman.
His new double album, In the Nighttime, is what happens when the two sides of his musical persona—sultry crooner and energetic showman—join forces.
His collection of 15 albums also includes That Tall Distance, a collaborative effort that was named Instrumental Album of the Year at the 2022 Juno Awards.
Myles’s dynamic career also includes the 2018 beloved children’s book Santa Never Brings Me a Banjo and the biggest-selling rap single in Canadian music history, “Inner Ninja,” a cross-genre musical collaboration with rapper Classified.
Over the past few years of isolation, the multifaceted artist sought to connect with audiences via his not-so-late-night YouTube talk show, “Myles From Home”, which has since become a popular podcast of the same name.
Tickets for the David Myles Trio are: Adult $35, Senior/Student $30, Youth $15. To book and find out more, visit the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
