Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming Musically Speaking performance could be just what people need.
Taking place on February 4 at the Orpheum Theatre at 7 pm, the concert gives audiences the chance to discover the colour of music with master French composer/orchestrator Claude Debussy, the playfulness of Erik Satie, and the creativity of renowned Chinese composer Tan Dun.
On the program are Satie’s La Mer; Gymnopédies No.1, 2, & 3 by Debussy; and Tan Dun’s Symphony of Colors.
Under the baton of associate conductor Andrew Crust (Marsha & George Taylor Chair), the VSO will also present Lili Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps. Crust has developed a versatile international career as a conductor of orchestral, opera, ballet and pops programs.
Audiences’ and artists’ safety remain the VSO’s top priority. For tickets and more information, see Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
