Emily Carr University hosts its 50th annual Student Art Sale, an opportunity to score one-of-a-kind pieces from some of Vancouver’s finest emerging artists and designers, from November 23 to 25 at the school’s campus accessible via Great Northern Way.

Hours are from 5 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, November 23, 12 pm to 8 pm on Friday, November 24, and 12 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, November 25.

As in past years, there will be a wide range of work for sale from more than 230 participating students, including original paintings, photographs, prints, ceramics, sculptures, wearable works, housewares, and more. Every item is unique and hand-crafted by students at Emily Carr University.

The sale is an opportunity to collect original works from emerging artists and designers before they break into their careers.

As many pieces are one-of-a-kind, quantities at the sale are limited. It’s recommended that guests check in early on opening day so they can see the diverse offering of pieces available, and purchase the artwork that speaks to them before it’s gone.

The range of work on display is a testament to why Emily Carr University of Art + Design is a world leader in education and research. Founded in 1925, the school—now based out of a new cutting-edge facility on East 1st Avenue—encourages experimentation at the intersections of art, design, media, and technology.

Over 2000 students are enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs at the school, with thousands more taking workshops, certificate programs, and individual programs. With faculty and alumni that are internationally recognized, the Student Art Sale is a chance to see where it all starts.

Folks who are interested can follow Emily Carr Univery’s Student Art Sale account on Instagram for more updates at @emilycarr_sas. The page, which features imagery from past editions of the sale, is a great insight into the quality and selection of pieces guests can expect this year.

More details on the Student Art Sale, including exact location, parking instructions, and payment options, can be found here. Free parking is available on Thursday and Saturday only.
