The Firehall Arts Centre presents the premiere of The Biting School’s Empty-Handed from October 2 to 5 at 7:30 pm, a contemporary dance piece that explores the journeys of five cosmic characters through themes of darkness, deception, and greed.

Audience members are invited to leave behind something from their past, which becomes part of the show. Through expressive movement, choreography, and storytelling, the dancers create a world that transcends time and culture. Each character guides viewers through an emotional arc that honours the essence of their personal revolutions.

In Empty-Handed, choreographer Arash Khakpour and co-producer Aryo Khakpour—The Biting School’s founding artistic directors—conjure up images of everyday life that transcend cultural and historical boundaries. Arash Khakpour performs in the piece alongside Juolin Lee, Antonio Somera Jr., Marisa Gold, and Hayley Gawthrop.

Post-show talkbacks take place on October 3 and 4. For tickets and more details, visit the Firehall Arts Centre.
