Friends of Chamber Music will welcome back the Elias String Quartet from England on March 14, for a 7:30 pm show at the Vancouver Playhouse.
Formed in 1998, the Elias String Quartet has established itself as one of the most intense and vibrant quartets of its generation, and it is currently the ensemble-in-residence at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
The group has performed at some of the world’s most prestigious chamber venues, from New York City’s Carnegie Hall to the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria.
The upcoming performance will open with Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in F-sharp Minor, Opus 50, No. 4, which will be followed by Igor Stravinsky’s Three Pieces for String Quartet, K019. The evening will conclude with Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet in F Major, Opus 59, No. 1.
More information and tickets for the show can be found at Friends of Chamber Music.
