Friends of Chamber Music will welcome The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center to the Vancouver Playhouse on March 26 at 3 pm.
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s touring musicians work with chamber music masters in an evolving repertory environment. The excitement and passion of a full orchestra is created by a piano trio with one additional musician.
Music by romantic composers Johannes Brahms and Anton Arensky will bring the audience a performance that begins with the wonder of childhood and ends with Brahms at the height of his dramatic powers.
Listeners will first hear the society play Arensky’s Six Pièces Enfantines for Piano Four Hands, Opus 34, and then Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Opus 32. It will be followed by Brahms’s Selected Hungarian Dances for Piano Four Hands, and Piano Trio No. 2 in C major, Opus 87.
The concert will close out Friends of Chamber Music’s 75th anniversary season. Tickets and more information on the event can be found here.
