Friends of Chamber Music is thrilled to present the Han, Finckel, Setzer Trio at the Vancouver Playhouse on February 15 from 7:30 to 10 pm.

Hailed as "brilliant and impassioned" by the Washington Post, Wu Han (piano), David Finckel (cello), and Phillip Setzer (violin) have become a distinguished ensemble and a Friends of Chamber Music audience favourite, always presenting peerless performances of great music.

For their return visit, the “super trio” will perform extraordinary works by some of the world’s greatest composers: Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s “African Dances” for violin and piano, Opus 58; Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Trio in D-major, Opus 70 No.1 “Ghost“; and Antonin Dvorak’s Piano Trio No.3 in F minor, Opus 65.

In 2004, David Finckel and Wu Han were appointed co-artistic directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS), one of 11 constituents of New York’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the largest performing arts complex in the world. They will continue in this prestigious shared role through the 2026-27 season, making them the 52-year-old organization’s longest-serving leaders.
