Friends of Chamber Music are delighted to welcome the Takács Quartet back to Vancouver.

Based in Boulder at the University of Colorado, the Takács Quartet recently completed a rewarding autumn tour of North America, Europe, and Asia, which garnered great acclaim.

According to BBC Music Magazine, “you will not hear better string quartet playing anywhere in the world today.”

The Sunday Times reports: “Impeccable…performances as wonderful and sonorous as you could hope for.”

Feedback from the Edinburgh Festival is just as glowing: “A full hall for a very accomplished quartet…They are a class act, if ever there was one, marrying aristocratic elegance and red-blooded energy to everything they play.”

Friends of Chamber Music anticipate a superb concert featuring three chamber music masterpieces: Franz Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in G Major, Opus 77, No.2; Béla Bartók’s String Quartet No. 6 (1939); and Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Opus 127.

Please join Friends of Chamber Music on February 21 at 7:30 pm at the Vancouver Playhouse for this not-to-be-missed performance.
