Gateway Theatre presents The Flame: Lunar New Year Edition on February 10 at 7:30 pm.
This one-night-only performance of Vancouver’s wildly popular storytelling series makes its Richmond debut with an evening of true stories that are told by the people who lived them.
Celebrating the Lunar New Year with themes of family and fresh beginnings, this extraordinary event will be hosted by The Flame co-founder Deborah Williams, award-winning actor and co-creator of Mom’s the Word, featuring storytelling in English, with occasional dialogue and songs in the speakers’ mother tongues and live music from Darling Sparrows.
Among the featured storytellers are Beverley Elliott, who plays Granny on Once Upon a Time, plus stars in Sink or Swim; and Kendell Yan, drag queen Maiden China of Vancouver’s House of Rice. The audience will also hear from Wong Wing-Siu, Chris Nowland, Samantha Sun, Sarvin Esmaeili, Renee Fajardo, and Jaylon Han.
Tickets and more details are at Gateway Theatre.
