SNOTTY NOSE REZ KIDS are among the nation’s biggest names in Indigenous music taking part in Indigifest 2021’s closing concert.

The Haisla hip-hop duo consists of rappers Quinton “Yung Trybez” Nyce & Darren “Young D” Metz. They share hosting duties with rising hip-hop artist Nimkish, of the Kwakwaka’wakw and Cree Nations, whose name originates from Vancouver Island’s Nimpkish Valley and whose album Damage Control came out last year.

Formed in 2016, Snotty Nose Rez Kids released their first self-titled album in the following year. Also in 2017, the band released second full-length, The Average Savage, which earned them the title of Best Hip Hop Artist at the Western Canadian Music Awards, landed them on the 2018 Polaris Music Prize Top 10 list, and led to a 2019 Juno Nomination for best Indigenous Music Album. Their third album, TRAPLINE, garnered critical acclaim when it came out in 2019, when SNRK won Breakout Artist at the Western Canadian Music Awards and the album was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Last year, they released their first EP, BORN DEADLY.
