BlueShore Theatre at Capilano University is thrilled to present Irish band JigJam on March 9 from 8 to 10 pm for a roaring night of “Celtgrass” music. The genre, coined by the band, is a vibrant cross of bluegrass and Irish folk music.

JigJam’s onstage energy and virtuosic musical ability have captivated audiences around the world, and their upcoming performance at BlueShore marks their Canadian debut. Audiences can expect immaculate harmonies, blazing banjo fills, red-hot fiddle, and driving rhythms as JigJam soars through original material from three albums.

All four band members—Jamie McKeogh (lead singer, guitar), Daithi Melia (five-string banjo, dobro), Gavin Strappe (mandolin, tenor banjo), and Danny Hunter (fiddle)—grew up immersed in traditional Irish music and culture. The multi-instrumentalists are known to delight audiences with their onstage interchange between banjos, guitars, fiddles, mandolin, and double-bass.

JigJam recently headlined the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado.

Tickets for the show can be purchased online at Capilano University or at the box office on site beginning one hour prior to the performance.
