Knowledge Network hosts the broadcast premiere of awe-inspiring cave documentary Subterranean on November 7, with free streaming available across Canada.
Two gritty teams of hobbyist cavers are poised to break records for the longest and deepest caves in Canada. Digging into the unexpectedly fascinating world of subterranean exploration, this feature-length film uncovers a story of potentially record-setting adventure.
With few places on Earth left to discover, caving may be among the last remaining activities of true exploration. Katie Graham becomes obsessed with returning to the Bisaro Anima cave in the Rockies, to push the national caving depth record. Meanwhile, Franck Tuot’s team is attempting to link two tunnel systems to create the longest known cave in Canada.
Produced by Vancouver’s Jenny Rustemeyer and directed by B.C. filmmaker François-Xavier De Ruydts, Subterranean is a heart-stopping journey into caving that provides an intimate, insider’s access into a fascinating subculture.
Subterranean will be available to stream online here.
