The BC Movement Arts Society is pleased to share its artistic executive director Mary-Louise Albert’s Solo Dances/Past into Present, presented by The Dance Centre.
The beautifully filmed online performance at the Scotiabank Dance Centre features exquisite dancers Livona Ellis, Vanessa Goodman, and Rebecca Margolick in choreography by leading senior Canadian artists Peter Bingham, Tedd Robinson, and Allen Kaeja.
These solos were originally created with and commissioned by Albert over 20 years ago and have been gifted to these outstanding next-generation dancers.
Embarking on a new journey into senior citizenship, Albert bravely returns to the stage after 20 years at the age of 65 in a new work-in-progress by Serge Bennathan, who has gently guided these first steps in this final journey.
Two additional solos, performed and choreographed by Ellis and Margolick, are included in the presentation in celebration of new emerging female choreographic voices, who are also program advisors to the BC Movement Arts Society.
Streaming is available December 3 to 17, with tickets and info here.
