Massey Theatre showcases Ballet Jörgen’s playful production Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet on February 10 from 4 pm to 6:45 pm, as part of the Massey Presents series.
Based on Anne of Green Gables – The Musical, which is an adaptation of beloved Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery’s 1908 novel, this full-length ballet brings to life Canada’s favourite red-haired Prince Edward Islander.
The audience will follow 11-year-old Anne Shirley’s adventures as she explores the fictional town of Avonlea after the orphanage mistakenly sends her to a farm home run by siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert. This story of one girl’s journey, famous across the world, is now being retold in magical dance form.
The production features original choreography by Bengt Jörgen, co-founder and artistic director of Ballet Jörgen. Music is composed by Norman Campbell, with the ballet score arranged by Alexander Levkovich.
Tickets are available via Massey Theatre.
