Massey Theatre is set to host another spectacular evening of string mastery as International Guitar Night celebrates 25 years on February 1 at 7:30 pm.
This year’s lineup, assembled by International Guitar Night founder Brian Gore, features an awe-inspiring group of talented musicians. Among them is German guitar virtuoso and IGN all-time favourite Lulo Reinhardt, the grandnephew of legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, who specializes in world music and Latin swing.
Joining him is the U.K.’s Alexandra Whittingham, a dynamic guitarist whose repertoire ranges from the classics to contemporary composers. Niwel Tsumbu, who is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has kept his unique Congolese percussive style alive while living in Ireland for the past 25 years. And Germany’s Sönke Meinen is a leading contemporary fingerstyle guitarist who mixes high-speed compositions with sensitive ballads.
Tickets to International Guitar Night and more details are at Massey Theatre.
