We could all use some moving music right now, and it can be found in masterworks by two of the world’s greatest composers when Vancouver Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart and Brahms.

Taking place on February 18 and 19 at 8 pm at the Orpheum Theatre, the concert is part of the Newmont Masterworks Gold series.

The performance features Mozart’s exquisite Sinfonia Concertante K.364, with the lightning virtuosity of VSO concertmaster Nicholas Wright and principal viola Hung-Wei Huang. Also on the program is Brahms’s soulful Symphony No. 2, led by VSO associate conductor Andrew Crust.

VSO has changed the programming of its previously scheduled Mozart, Bach & Bartok concert to the program noted above to keep musicians, audiences, and staff members safe, given that large symphonic pieces require more musicians on stage. This performance has no intermission and the concert will be capped at 50 percent capacity in accordance with public health measures.

For tickets and more information, see VSO.
