Music on Main announces 16th annual concert series
The organization is keeping people connected via digital musical offerings, in-person concerts, and more
NOW IN ITS 16th year, Music on Main has announced the fall portion of its annual concert series for 2021-22, with everything from specially filmed video performances to a week-long festival of live performance.
It’s all building on the pandemic programming that the organization has created over the last 18 months to keep musicians and audiences connected, says Music on Main artistic director David Pay.
“Great performances and intimate artistic insights help people feel connected to each other, and to their own thoughts and ideas,” Pay said in a release. “As Music on Main prepares for a new season of concerts, conversations, and inventive digital experiences, we’re digging deep to create new connections through music.”
Among the highlights are Music on Main’s weekly digital releases, running September 14 to November 2, featuring artists such as Infamy Too!, Julia Ulehla, Aram Bajakian, and Saina Khaledi.
The 10th annual Modulus Festival happens November 4 to 10. Flutist Mark Takeshi McGregor will premiere Keiko Devaux’s “Hōrai” along with music by Alfredo Santa Ana, James O’Callaghan, and Nicole Lizée, while there will be musical tributes to composers Louis Andriessen and Frederic Rzewski. As dreams are made returns, the intimate performance by a single artist for a single audience member, featuring musicians from The Tempest Project Company.
A yearly tradition, Music for the Winter Solstice takes place December 15 and 16 at Heritage Hall, the candlelight concert offering a tuneful respite from the busy-ness of the holiday season.
Limited tickets to the events will become available throughout the season, and details for 2022 programming are forthcoming.
