Music on Main’s Music for the Winter Solstice airs December 16 at 7:30 pm via YouTube Premieres.

THE LONGEST NIGHT of the year need not be greeted with dread and despair—not even in the annus horribilis that is 2020. Music on Main lightens things up with Music for the Winter Solstice. Taking place a few days before the actual midwinter event, the December 16 YouTube concert is free and comes complete with a live Q&A with musicians afterward.

The production features favourite moments and never-seen-before footage from past shows at Heritage Hall as well as a new filmed performance by vocalists Corey Payette and Julie McIsaac with pianist Rachel Iwaasa (captured at the Post at 750).

Hosted by Music on Main artistic director David Pay, the performance features other standout local musicians, such as include Veda Hille, Gabriel Kahane, and Caroline Shaw. For more information, see Music on Main.
