Talking Stick Festival celebrates National Indigenous History Month every June by showcasing talented Indigenous performers and artists.
June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time for everyone to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of Indigenous people across this land.
The theme of the 2022 Talking Stick Festival is “Come Together”, which we communicate in the three languages spoken in the ancestral, unceded territories of the Coast Salish People: Ḵxwúsem (Squamish), m̓i q̓əq̓aʔt ct (Musqueam), and Qápqúthut (Tsleil-Waututh).
This year, we gather from all four directions to share stories articulated through music, dance, theatre, film and other forms of art presented by the Talking Stick Festival, now in its 21st year.
We travel across our ancestral land bringing audiences with us to explore our Indigenous culture through the arts.
We invite you to come along. Come together to experience and celebrate our culture and history on National Indigenous Peoples Day; throughout the entire festival, running until July 3; and beyond.
