VANCOUVER SUPERGROUP The New Pornographers have just been added to the 2022 Squamish Constellation Festival lineup. The news comes in the wake of a cancellation of a July 23 concert appearance by Black Pumas at the event “due to circumstances out of our control”, according to Constellation.

“We understand that a lot of fans will be incredibly disappointed by this news, as are we. However, we know that the weekend lineup is incredibly diverse and exciting and we’re pleased to announce that brilliant musical collective, The New Pornographers have stepped up to fill in Saturday’s headline spot,” Squamish Constellation Festival cofounder Kirsten Andrews said in a press statement this morning.

Black Pumas management released the following statement: “We are devastated to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances we are no longer able to perform at Squamish Constellation Festival. We hope to be able to return to B.C. soon and we apologize to all our fans for the inconvenience.”

The New Pornographers—A.C. Newman, Neko Case, Kathryn Calder, Todd Fancey, Blaine Thurier, John Collins, Joe Seiders and Simi Stone—join a Saturday lineup that includes Andy Shauf, Black Pistol Fire, Whitehorse, Haley Blais, and more. July Talk headlines Friday’s offerings, while Sarah McLachlan headlines Sunday’s lineup.

Limited tickets, onsite camping and parking are still available for the multi-genre, zero-waste music festival, July 22 to 24, taking place in the heart of the Sea to Sky Corridor between Vancouver and Whistler. Ticketing info and more details here.
