Dance, music, drumming, and more as All Over the Map returns to Granville Island

New Works’ final installment of its free music and dance series for 2022 is part of Culture Days

New Works’ All Over the Map summer series of free dance and music on Granville Island, comes to a close on September 24 at 3 pm with its third and final installment for 2022 at the Granville Island Public Market Courtyard. 

Three artists come together to present a rich afternoon of movement and music, weaving connections of community and space.

Inviting the audience in to dance with them, Dance Theatre Uganda, led by Edward Sambatya, shares Kyoto, a participatory dance and drum performance for all ages.

Next up, Her Tribal Roots, a collective of seven dance and music artists, shares work on reimagining how we interact with one another and with nature through a mosaic of different dance styles as well as music, poetry, and culture.

Finally, choreographer Sarah Hin Ching U shares Stratum, a duet performance installation interlacing dance and textile art that finds its site-specific home on Granville Island. 

New Works welcomes audiences of all ages to this outdoor, free afternoon of dance and music. The September performance of All Over the Map will also part of Culture Days 2022.
