North Shore Art Crawl 2023, hosted by North Van Arts, takes place in person and online this year at various venues across the North Shore. Opening receptions are held on October 13 from 7 pm to 9 pm, and more events are on October 14 and 15 from 11 am to 5 pm.

Guests are invited to immerse themselves in vibrant creativity this fall, as over 150 artists enliven the North Shore for the 13th annual North Shore Art Crawl. In celebration of local artists and artisans, 69 locations from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove are opening their spaces to the community for this free weekend event.

You are invited to meet the artists and get behind the scenes of their creative processes. The North Shore Art Crawl welcomes connection, with 50 artists hosting Friday night opening receptions, and another 50 offering demonstrations and art activities over the course of the weekend.

Whether visitors are entering an artist studio, visiting a local gallery, or popping into an art-filled café or brewery, they will be met with a unique array of art, design, and craft.

The Art Crawl features a vast range of mediums and styles, including illustration, mixed media, oil, pastel, watercolour, jewellery, clay, metal, glass, printmaking, design, wood, and textiles. A selection of 26 artists are participating for the first time this year, and will be featured alongside new works and collections from returning artists.

Two of the artists featured include Celan Bouillet at 195 Studio, and Ann Marie Lewis of Soulroots Moss Art at the Museum of North Vancouver.

Bouillet is a Vancouver-based mixed-media painter whose upbringing in the American South influenced her love of spinning a good tale, textiles, and sublime landscapes. She creates fantastical landscapes through collages, paintings, and installation.

Through her unique moss art creations, Lewis is inspired to share the beauty of the forest, bringing its healing and calming energies indoors.

This free event is part of 2023 BC Culture Days. The full lineup of offerings, plus frequently asked questions, an online event guide, and navigation tools, can be found at North Van Arts.
