North Van Arts’s newest exhibition Women, Life, Freedom, curated by Saghi Ehteshamzadeh, is now on display until August 26. A curator tour takes place on July 22 from 2 pm to 3 pm.

Denied fundamental rights and bodily autonomy, Iranian women have courageously endured generations of oppression. The tragic murder of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini in 2022 served as a catalyst in bringing this reality to light, igniting the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement. This exhibition serves as a profound homage, honouring the indomitable bravery and unwavering resilience of Iranian women.

The works of 14 artists are featured: Audineh Asaf, Ece Asitanelioğlu, Elmira Sarreshtehdari, Goli, Kate Arkiletian, Kiana Shahnia, Laleh Javaheri, Mina Saneei, Moozhan Ahmadzadegan, Nazanin Khalili, Roselynn Sadaghiani, Sanaz Haeri, and Yasaman Moussavi.

Through a combination of sculptures, paintings, video art, and more, the artists provide a glimpse into a future where all women bask in boundless freedom unfettered by societal constraints.
