Pacific Theatre welcomes audiences to Sex, Co-Dependents, and Love Addicts Anonymous with the ITSAZOO production Meeting from May 14 to June 7.

In an empty church activity room, five people share their stories and try to connect in the face of stigma, intersecting trauma, and wildly disparate experiences. When a new participant arrives with a unique set of issues, the group is challenged to evaluate the limits of their tolerance, trust, and acceptance, raising the question of whether restorative justice is truly possible.

Written by Katherine Gauthier, Meeting is staged in the immersive Chalmers activity room at Pacific Theatre, with each performance followed by a Talk Forward. The creative and production team includes director Chelsea Haberlin, assistant director Paige Louter, stage manager Jasmin Sandhu, and production designers Melicia Zaini and Stephanie Wong.

A series of trauma-informed practices will support and protect the cast, creative team, and audience members. Among those practices is the engagement of intimacy director Aryn Mott, Canada’s first certified Mental Health Coordinator working within film, television, and theatre.
