Pi Theatre presents the Pi Provocateurs Presentation Deafy, created and performed by Chris Dodd, at the VIFF Centre’s Studio Theatre on November 24 and 25 at 7:30 pm and November 26 at 2 pm.

Deaf public speaker Nathan Jesper has arrived at his venue desperately late. As he launches into his speech, he soon realizes that things are not what they seem. A new play by Deaf artist Chris Dodd, Deafy skillfully combines ASL, surtitles, and spoken word to weave together a tragicomedy that takes the audience on an unexpected journey of discovering what it really means to belong.

The show is designed specifically to be accessible to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing audience members on any night. Following the performance, an ASL-interpreted artist talk takes place with Dodd and director Ashley Wright.

Tickets and more details are here.
