Vancouver Podcast Festival moves online from November 18 to 22, with live recordings and more
Brainwashed host Michelle Shepard and Sandy & Nora Talk Politics are on the roster
THE THIRD ANNUAL Vancouver Podcast Festival has announced it will return with an At Home version from November 18 to 22, with programming that spans CIA conspiracies to Canadian politics.
Presented by DOXA, the five-day fest will feature Michelle Shephard, host of CBC’s Brainwashed, which focused on CIA mind-control experiments; she’ll be in conversation with Ian Hanomansing.
Meanwhile, Sandy Hudson and Nora Loreto, of the popular Canadian politics podcast Sandy & Nora Talk Politics, will host a live recording, as will Elamin Abdelmahmoud and the Pop Chat panel.
Other workshops and special events include a talk on how to monetize podcasts and the first VanPodFest Pitch Session, in which executive producers from CBC Podcasts, TELUS STORYHIVE, and Canadaland, are on hand to give people feedback.
On November 20, the Vancouver Podcast Fest’s Virtual Podfair Happy Hour will be hosted by Hannah McGregor (Witch, Please and Secret Feminist Agenda) and Andrea Warner (Pop This! and Pop Chat).
There's much more; info is here. Festival passes and tickets are on sale now, with prices ranging from free or pay-what-you-can to $5 (students/seniors/reduced income) and $10 (adults) per ticketed event. The full fest pass is $25.
