Friends of Chamber Music have invited Italy’s Quartetto di Cremona to open the 2022-23 season at the Vancouver Playhouse, on October 25 at 7:30 pm.

The Cremona, which performed for FCM in 2018, is renowned as one of the most exciting chamber ensembles on the international stage and has become recognized for its interpretive artistry.

In the midst of an intense 2022 season, the ensemble debuted at Lincoln Centre to enthusiastic acclaim. This landmark moment in the Cremona’s illustrious career was marked with long applause, several curtain calls, and a standing ovation.

As reviewed in Concertonet, This Italian group, founded some 20 years ago, at the present time and in the opinion of many, carries the mantle of its legendary masters, the Quartetto Italiano.”

For this concert, the quartet will perform Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Sergei Prokofiev’s String Quartet No.1 in B Minor, and Maurice Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major.
