B3 Kings return to Shadbolt Centre for the Arts for the holidays, December 20 and 21
At annual event, tenor-saxophonist Cory Weeds leads the quartet through creative arrangements of Christmas classics

B3 Kings.
Back by popular demand, the B3 Kings are playing a trio of holiday concerts at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on December 20 at 7:30 pm and December 21 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm.
Featuring tenor-saxophonist Cory Weeds, organist Chris Gestrin, guitarist Bill Coon, and vocalist-drummer Denzal Sinclaire, the B3 Kings initially formed in 2002 for a Christmas concert at Weeds’s Cellar Jazz Club in Vancouver. The show was such a huge success that it became an annual event with subsequent tours.
Weeds is known for his expressive sound rooted in jazz tradition. His recent release, Just Coolin’, is his most successful Cellar Music Group recording to date, with tracks appearing on popular playlists around the world. Gestrin, who plays the group’s namesake Hammond B3 organ, is behind the creative arrangements of Christmas classics at each concert.
Tickets and more details are at the Shadbolt Centre.
