Qwalena: The Wild Woman Who Steals Children.

Indigenous storyteller Dallas Yellowfly brings Qwalena: The Wild Woman Who Steals Children to life in this unique and scary theatrical multimedia storytelling performance at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on September 27 at 7:30 pm.

The purpose of this performance is to promote anti-racism, and create awareness of the Indian Act and the intergenerational impacts of residential schools while strengthening communities through education. By blending oral tradition, multimedia components, mature content, and a bit of humour, Yellowfly creates an understanding of how Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island are trying to break the cycles of oppression caused by residential schools.

Yellowfly is a member of the Siksika First Nation and founder of Indigenous educational storytelling company 3 Crows Productions. He combines his experience in music, stand-up comedy, and filmmaking to make theatrical storytelling performances and unique documentary films.
