Corporeal Imago’s Throe fuses aerial acrobatics, contemporary dance, and visual theatre at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts on November 3 and 4 from 7:30 pm to 8:15 pm.

Throe explores interdependence in the aftermath of a crisis, blurring the space between floor and air to create a compellingly kinetic and visually arresting performance. It features performers Marissa Wong, Brenna Metzmeier, Darian Mark, Jeremiah Hughes, Alex Tam, and Brianne Chan suspended on aerial ropes, symbolically clinging to what remains in the throes of survival.

While Throe depicts people at the mercy of their circumstances, it also highlights the resilience that can be found through unity. This movement piece beautifully captures the human spirit, highlighting an ability to find hope and strength in collective efforts.

Throe is co-choreographed by former Cirque du Soleil performers Gabrielle Martin and Jeremiah Hughes, who founded Corporeal Imago together in 2018.
