Sound the Alarm: Music/Theatre presents Ebony Roots: Concert Part 2, the final presentation of its two-part concert project, at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre on February 9 at 8 pm.

Ebony Roots: Concert Part 2 is a powerful and intimate music experience that journeys through the evolving emancipation of Black identity and culture from the North American perspective. The evening begins with prison work-songs, then moves through passionate spirituals, transitions into iconic musical theatre and opera songs from the stage, and arrives at the emergence of Black soul, R&B, blues, and Motown.

The upcoming show is the fully designed concert program, which was given a preview performance in December, in the Part 1 concert. It showcases the musical talents of several core artists: vocalist Brandon Thornhill, flutist-percussionist Carlos Joe Costa, vocalist-guitarists Leo D.E. Johnson and Olaf de Shield, vocalist-bassist Russell Jackson, and vocalist-keyboardist Wayne Stewart.

Tickets and more details are available online.
