Ready to dive in? Swimming Home is an immersive theatre experience for an audience of one that takes place in their own bathroom.

The new Autoteatro show by Silvia Mercuriali was developed through interviews with swimmers from all over the UK and is delivered directly to people's homes through a mobile-phone app.

Swimming Home, running February 23 to 27, is the first presentation in Boca del Lupo’s LivePerformance360, an innovative theatre series curated by artistic director Sherry J Yoon with guest curator Jo Mangan, CEO of Ireland’s Performance Corporation.

Standing in their bathroom, wearing a swimming costume, goggles, and some headphones, the audience is led through a journey of rediscovery of their relationship with water as they prepare to enter their bath (or shower). A sonic reality matches participants’ actions as they are instructed to move around their bathroom, which ends up taking on new guises.

LP360 will release new work each month until June that explores the intersection of live performance and immersive technologies.

In addition to the online digital experience of LP360, Boca del Lupo has set up the Fishbowl as an education and demonstration centre on Granville Island.

More information is at Boca del Lupo.
