Kay Meek Arts Centre presents The Slocan Ramblers on February 22 and 23 at 7:30 pm

FOR THE SLOCAN Ramblers, bluegrass music is a form of catharsis. The Toronto-based band—made up of Frank Evans on banjo and vocals, Adrian Gross on mandolin, and Darryl Poulsen on guitar and vocals, with Charles James on bass and vocals—is rooted in tradition and has a reputation for energetic live shows.

At its upcoming appearance at Kay Meek Arts Centre on February 22 and 23, the act will perform songs off its most recent album, Up the Hill and Through the Fog. The release consists of a collection of 12 surprisingly joyful tunes that grew out of personal losses for the artists and aims to uplift and help make sense of the world.

The Slocan Ramblers have been featured on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and were nominated for a 2019 Juno Award.
