This month, Vancouver Writers Fest will be taking place on Granville Island and online with over 70 events offered in-theatre, through digital streaming, and a unique new "cinema" experience at The New Emergent Studio Theatre (The NEST).

From October 18 to 24, patrons looking forward to the in-person experience can attend a number of high-profile literary events on Granville Island stages, including André Alexis, Esi Edugyan, Lauren Groff, and Jesse Wente, while those eager for streaming opportunities can look forward to Susan Orlean, Brit Bennett, Colm Tóibín, and Tomson Highway throughout the week.

Returning this year is the Digital Festival Pass ($100), which provides convenient access to 35 streamed events. Twenty of these virtual events are also available to watch concurrently at The NEST, which is by donation and doesn't require any tickets or RSVPs. ASL and captioning are available.

Plan your itinerary—whatever your comfort level—at writersfest.bc.ca.
