FIVE OF CANADA’S most respected Asian theatre artists join together virtually for Unapologetically Asian: Stories of our Past, Dreams for our Future, a no-holds-barred conversation.
Moderated by Howard Jang, vice president of the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and curated by local actor Melissa Oei, the roundtable aims to increase visibility of Asian artists and deepen the understanding of the Asian experience in the Canadian theatre industry. The honest discussion will explore Asian artists’ triumphs, challenges, and vision for what the future holds.
The event features Alannah Ong, Donna Wong-Juliani, Hiro Kanagawa, Maki Yi, and Minh Ly.
It’s being presented by Virtual Gold, Western Gold Theatre’s series of free online presentations, podcasts, and creative workshops that came about in response to COVID-19.
