Vancouver Chamber Choir invites local audiences to journey to another world for a fully immersive audio-visual experience in UNDER THE NORTH STAR.

The one-of-a-kind choral presentation will take place at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre on Friday, January 20 with two performances: 6 pm and 8 pm.

Conducted by VCC Artistic Director Kari Turunen, the concert places the visual on even terms with the music. Stunning 360-degree projections of the Earth, the sky, stars, galaxies, and black holes will merge with the music and with the poems that the program’s choral works are based on.

Repertoire includes music inspired by stars, constellations, space, and the night sky—all by living composers. The music is mostly from Canada, albeit with an American and Nordic twist.

Audiences are invited to watch and listen as the planets, meteor showers, galaxies, and other astronomical wonders transport them across the universe.

The concert, lasting approximately 60 minutes, will be presented without intermission.
