Vancouver Art Gallery puts out call for women's submissions to fall's Yoko Ono: ARISING installation
Work will be shown as part of GROWING FREEDOM: The instructions of Yoko Ono, opening October 9

ARTIST YOKO ONO is putting a call out to women ahead of a major show this fall at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
The VAG is inviting submissions from individuals who self-identify as women as part of an installation titled ARISING.
Ono is inviting women of all ages worldwide to send a testament of harm inflicted on them, for simply being what they are, a woman.
The open call from the artist is as follows:

All statements of harm and photographs will be exhibited in Ono’s ARISING, an ongoing installation that has been shown internationally and is part of the exhibition, GROWING FREEDOM: The instructions of Yoko Ono, which will be on view at the Vancouver Art Gallery on October 9, 2021 until May 1, 2022. The vision is for ARISING to grow and be exhibited in countries around the world.
