The thrilling concert marks the debut of VBC’s 91st season.

A perennial favourite, Mozart’s Requiem is considered a masterpiece cloaked in mystery and is beloved for its mesmerizing and emotionally stirring qualities.

“Mozart’s Requiem is a work of such power and transcendent beauty,” says VBC Music Director Leslie Dala. “Given all of the events of the past 18 months across the globe and here at home, we felt that this was the ideal piece to launch this season. We look forward to making music together in person and to sharing this incredible masterpiece which we hope will give consolation and renewed hope to our listeners.”

The Vancouver Bach Choir will be joined by local soloists Robyn Driedger-Klassen, soprano; Katie Fernandez, mezzo-soprano; Scott Rumble, tenor; and Neil Craighead, bass.

Then, on November 30, Vancouver Bach Choir and Children’s Choirs will premiere Benjamin Britten’s festive cantata St. Nicolas.
